Conditions of participation for GI events

This is only a translation of the German terms and conditions. 
Legally, the German version applies.

Cost of the event
Unless otherwise stated, the events of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) are free of charge. Events with costs will be declared accordingly. All prices quoted are exclusive of the statutory value-added tax. For full-day events, catering including lunch is included in the fee.

Registration
In principle, registration for an event takes place via the respective registration form on our website. After submitting your registration via the registration form, you will receive an e-mail with a link for the final confirmation of your registration.
Important: For the binding registration it is necessary to click on this confirmation link. Otherwise, we will not be able to see your data or send you information about the event by e-mail.
If your registration was done in another way (e.g. by e-mail or by phone after the registration deadline), please wait for a confirmation e-mail. Only then has your registration been successful and is binding for both parties.
Please bring your printed registration confirmation to the event.

Cancellation of the event
If an event has to be cancelled by us due to too few participants or for unforeseeable reasons, we will of course refund the event fees already paid. Further claims are excluded. No additional agreements have been made.
As a rule, an event is cancelled at least seven days before the event date.

Event program and speakers
The times stated in the event program are guidelines and may change for organizational reasons, as may the sequence of topics or individual contents. In exceptional cases, the GI also reserves the right to change the choice of speakers at short notice. A claim against the organizer of any kind is excluded in any case.

Processing of registration data
For the processing of your registration, your data will be stored and processed electronically.
By registering, you agree that your name and company/institution may appear in a list of participants that will be made available to all participants. If you do not wish this, please send a message in writing to gs@gi.de.

Image recording
During the event, photographs may be taken for the GI's public relations work. With your registration you agree to their publication. If you do not agree to this, please inform us in advance of the event by sending a message to gs@gi.de.

Written form requirement
Changes or additions to these conditions of participation must be made in writing. This also applies to any amendment of the written form requirement.

Severability clause
Should individual provisions of this contract be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. In place of the invalid provision, a valid provision shall be deemed to have been agreed which corresponds to what was intended by the contracting parties.

Place of jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction is Berlin.
