Hello, world!
We are the German Informatics Society
As a network of computer scientists, the German Informatics Society (GI) advocates for a form of digitalization that works for everyone. With more than 17,000 individual and 250 corporate members—drawn from academia, industry, public administration, and civil society—it is the largest professional society for Computer Science in the German-speaking world and has represented the interests of computer scientists since 1969. Comprising 14 specialized divisions, over 30 active regional groups, and countless specialist groups, the GI serves as a platform and voice for all disciplines within Computer Science. GI members drive the discipline forward, ask critical questions, and consistently provide new impetus—all in the pursuit of a form of Computer Science that is inclusive, forward-looking, and oriented toward the common good.
