SUMMARY:Trustworthy Tuesday - Language-Based Verification of Probabilistic
 Security
DESCRIPTION:In our next session of Trustworthy Tuesday, Pajam Pauls will gi
ve his presentation “Language-Based Verification of Probabilistic Security”
. Pajam Pauls is a research associate at the Institute for IT Security at t
he University of Lübeck. His talk presents a language-based approach to pro
ving probabilistic security properties. It combines term rewriting with pro
babilistic reasoning to model the behavior of programs and systems, and use
s proof rules and proof systems to derive rigorous security guarantees. The
aim is to provide a structured verification framework that connects formal
reasoning techniques with security analysis, going beyond empirical evalua
tion and handwritten proofs.\n\nIn our webinar series Trustworthy Tuesday,
we aim to break down the complex topic of formal verification and trustwort
hy IT into small bites. Researchers present their work in the field. A shor
t input and a discussion round will provide an insight into research approa
ches and best practices.\n\nThe event will take place on April 21st, starti
ng at 2pm (UTC +2) over Zoom (s. Website link above). We will upload the re
cording to the EvIT website after the event.\n\n\n\nBy registering, you agr
ee to the declaration of consent for video recording. The declaration can b
e found here.\n\nIf you have any questions, please reach out to protect@gi.
