SUMMARY:#IFIP60 - The Silent Revolution: Software as the Technological Fabr
 ic of Society
ional Federation of Information Processing  (IFIP) gefeiert .
Panels zum Thema Future of Information Processing statt.
nt der Reihe - The Silent Revolution: Software as the Technological Fabric
of Society - findet am 30. August um 15 Uhr statt (Veranstaltungsspache ist
Englisch). \n\nSoftware has been at the center of a silent revolution: fro
m an ancillary role to computer hardware, it has emerged as the technologic
al fabric of a globally interconnected society. This has been fueled by gen
erally unnoticed, yet visionary under-the-hood advances in software theory
and practice at academic and industrial institutions, fostered by IFIP’s pr
ovision of long-term technical fora. In this session thought leaders from a
cademia and industry will discuss the role and impact of principled design,
methodology and implementation of high-level programming languages in this
silent revolution. They will reflect not only on the increasingly severe d
emands on software safety, security and productivity in today’s systems, bu
t also on advancing languages and their algorithmic calculi, formal verific
ation, automated analysis and synthesis as under-the-hood facilitators of t
 omorrow’s artificially intelligent, data-driven, robotic, interconnected-de
vice-based, decentralized and parallel systems.\n\nParticipation is open to
anyone and free of charge. You can register for the event here.\n\nAbout t
he Future of Information Processing Event Series\n\nThe Event Series consis
ts of ten events in total, featuring IFIP experts and high-level guests dis
cussing questions arising at the intersection of technology and the informa
tion society. The events be online panels of 75 minutes each consisting of
short speeches, a moderated discussion and a Q&A with the audience. Recordi
ngs of the events will be made available on YouTube. Information and regist
ration links for the following events will be available shortly on the IFIP
  60th Jubilee Web Site.
