SUMMARY:European Informatics Conference 2023
DESCRIPTION:Hardly any other industry is as affected by the shortage of spe
 cialists and skilled workers as the IT sector. Today, more than half of all
  European companies have great difficulties filling vacancies with trained 
 specialists, a trend which will accelerate in upcoming years. At the same t
 ime, the educational skill set in the field of computer science/informatics
  is developing with lightning speed, as is the nature of educational progra
 ms and providers, radically transforming the traditional education market.\
 n\nHow can these challenges be tackled? Can a harmonization of IT education
  on a European and global level be the solution? Will new educational provi
 ders replace "classical” studies of computer science? How can computer scie
 nce education be adapted and changed according to (emerging) needs and tren
 ds (mentioning only a few buzz words such as artificial intelligence, data 
 science, and big data) while still guaranteeing a high standard of quality 
 in higher education?\n\nIn this international informatics conference, we ha
 ve assembled all major European and global stakeholders from academia as we
 ll as industry. Together we will analyze the state of the art of European c
 omputer science education and present different ideas and approaches to dea
 l with the problems described above. To what extent can computer science ed
 ucation benefit from (new) quality standards, how can clear recognition sch
 emes support the academic and professional mobility and students and gradua
 tes, and how can alternative learning programs “revolutionize” and compleme
 nt computer science education now and in the future without compromising on
  quality? Finally, how can the European informatics community (re)-unite an
 d work collaboratively in order to overcome the current challenges and work
