SUMMARY:#IFIP60 - Digital Twin for Cyber-physical Production Systems
ional Federation of Information Processing  (IFIP) gefeiert .
Panels zum Thema Future of Information Processing statt.
ent der Reihe - Digital Twin for Cyber-physical Production Systems - findet
am 13. September um 15 Uhr statt (Veranstaltungsspache ist Englisch). \n\n
Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) are one of the pillars for the new industrial
revolution, which is marked by the decentralization of production processes
as well as the proliferation of interconnected intelligent devices through
out the production and logistics chain. Embedded computers and networks mon
itor and control the physical processes with feedback loops in which physic
al processes affect computations and vice versa. An industrial automation s
ystem is an example of CPS where computational elements control and automat
e the execution of physical processes in industrial plants. Thus, it is cle
ar the need to connect physical objects to information associated with thes
e objects in the cyber world. In CPS, for each product, machine or equipmen
t, a virtual (logical) representation needs to be developed with its actual
physical description. This process is known as virtualization and its prod
uct, the digital twin, is one of the consequences of Industry 4.0.\n\nParti
cipation is open to anyone and free of charge. You can register for the eve
nt here.\n\nAbout the Future of Information Processing Event Series\n\nThe
Event Series consists of ten events in total, featuring IFIP experts and hi
gh-level guests discussing questions arising at the intersection of technol
ogy and the information society. The events be online panels of 75 minutes
each consisting of short speeches, a moderated discussion and a Q&A with th
e audience. Recordings of the events will be made available on YouTube. Inf
ormation and registration links for the following events will be available
shortly on the IFIP 60th Jubilee Web Site.
