SUMMARY:#IFIP60 - Cybersecurity Skills
DESCRIPTION:Von Mai bis Dezember wird online das 60. Jubiläum der  Internat
 ional Federation of Information Processing  (IFIP) gefeiert . Die 1960 gegr
 ündete internationale Organisation ist ein Dachverband für über 40 Informat
 ik-Gesellschaften aus aller Welt, darunter auch die GI. Die Organisation ha
 t über 3500 Einzelmitglieder und ermöglicht diesen Expert*innen einen fachl
 ichen Austausch in über 100 Arbeitsgruppen.\n\nUm das 60. Bestehen der Orga
 nisation virtuell zu feiern,  finden von August bis Dezember zehn virtuelle
  Panels zum Thema Future of Information Processing statt. Die Eventreihe wi
 rd von Mitgliedern der IFIP organisiert und gibt Expert*innen eine Bühne, ü
 ber diverse Themen wie autonomes Fahren, Ethik in der Informatik und Cybers
 icherheit zu sprechen. Die Veranstaltungen sind frei zugänglich und Aufzeic
 hnungen werden im Nachgang im Netz zur Verfügung gestellt.\n\nDas neunte Ev
 ent der Reihe - Cybersecurity Skills - findet am 29. November um 15 Uhr sta
 tt (Veranstaltungsspache ist Englisch). \n\nThis session will examine the m
 ultidimensional challenge posed by cyber security skills, the need for whic
 h has gained increasing recognition on a global scale. One fundamental prob
 lem is that the desired skills are in short supply, resulting in recruitmen
 t and retention issues for employers. However, a further underlying challen
 ge is that cyber security itself actually encompasses a broad range of area
 s, with different knowledge, experience and skillsets being relevant to dif
 ferent roles. This can result in knock-on challenges in understanding the s
 kills landscape and interpreting whether particular skills are matched to o
 ur needs. The panel will consider these issues, including the part that aca
 demic qualifications, industry certifications and professional standards ca
 n potentially play in providing a solution.\n\nParticipation is open to any

 uture of Information Processing Event Series\n\nThe Event Series consists o
 f ten events in total, featuring IFIP experts and high-level guests discuss
 ing questions arising at the intersection of technology and the information
  society. The events be online panels of 75 minutes each consisting of shor
 t speeches, a moderated discussion and a Q&A with the audience. Recordings 
 of the events will be made available on YouTube. Information and registrati
